Steven is the youngest of five sons.  Three brothers are deceased: Joseph Brance, Daniel Paul, and William Edward, Sr.  He is survived by his brother, John Anthony DeRicco, Sr. and his wife, Shirley.  Steve married Caroline Meeks.  They have a daughter, Brittany Ann DeRicco.  Brittany made Steve a grandfather.  Brittany and David Hutchinson have two sons, David Ralph and Brance Douglas Hutchinson.  Casey Lynn DeRicco is Steve’s younger daughter.  Her mother is Eileen Yaros.

Steve is also survived by his nephews and nieces:  Rachel, Michelle, Joshua, John, Jr., Daniel (Steve is Daniel’s Godfather), and William, Jr. DeRicco.  He has seven great-nephews and nieces, as well as many cousins.

Steven grew up as a member of Resurrection Catholic Parish.  He attended Wilson, Shue, Bancroft, and Christiana High School.  As a youth, Steve was in the Boy Scouts, Newark National Little League (Tigers), and Capitol Trail Football (Braves).  He was an avid fan of the Phillies and Eagles.  Steve loved animals, and they were attracted to him.

Steve enjoyed family camping and travel every summer.  He often stayed at the family home in Lazy Lake, Milton.  All the brothers and their father enjoyed surf fishing from the truck beaches at Cape Henlopen, Indian River Inlet, and the Outer Banks, NC.

Steve was a plumber by trade and worked for several plumbing companies throughout the years.
