I knew Steve only a short time...but I enjoyed his company and friendship at the announces senior center. I will miss our conversations and especially his laughter. We will all miss him.

Fare thee well! we part, my brother!
Fare thee well! we part in pain;
But the light shines through our sorrow,—
Brother, we shall meet again!
Where the wicked cease from troubling,
Where the weary are at rest,
Where his head the loved disciple
Leans upon the Master's breast,
Where the meeting has no parting
That can break the heart of love,
Where no shadows cross the threshold,
In our Father's house above

To the Slavish Family- My heart goes out to Johnny, Jane, Joe, Mary Ann, Bob, Bill, and family. Many good times that we had with Steve during our earlier days right after his accident. John and I have missed those times. Steve, no matter what, you were always a friend, and in our hearts. And, I'm so sorry that we couldn't clear the stupid things up. When you worked in the Column Packing Department at HP in Avondale (now Agilent), I always felt that it was my responsibility to personally watch over you when you were transferred to our department. When the daily job tasks were distributed, I would consider you for the tasks that would not only challenge you, but the ones that I knew that you could master. As a Work Leader, I hope that I served you well. Your family always looked after me when we were kids, I'll never forget that, and we'll never forget you. Life sometimes causes unintentional absences, but one day we shall see each other again. Take care my good ole buddy from Kaimensi Gardens. I truly miss those times. May God richly bless all of the Slavish family, always. Bill Billings, John Tanzilli

Our sweet,sweet Stephen. What an incredible person he was. I have never known anyone so strong and determined. Despite all of his challenges, he never missed a day of work in 37 years! He always amazed me. Thanks to Mary Anne, he was able to travel frequently and enjoy those wonderful meals that she prepared for the two of them. I am going to miss that sweet smile so much.

Sad to hear of Steve's passing. My head and heart are filled with many great memories of growing up in Kiamensi Gardens in the 50's and 60's, when life was simpler, with a group of kids that still remain friends. Steve was right there in the middle of it with us. He was 'one of the boys'!
Rest in Peace, man.
