Rose M Smiley

Rose M. Smiley, age 90, formerly of Newark, DE passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.

Born in Wilmington, DE to the late Luke and Rose De Stefano, Rose lived all of her life in Wilmington. She was an Executive Secretary with the Dupont Company for 33 years in the Textile and Fibers Department. Rose loved singing and was in the Wilmington Opera Society, the Dupont Chorus and the Newark Chorus. She also sung at funerals, weddings and in nursing Homes.

She was predeceased by her husband, Frank in 2001 and her granddaughter, Rachel Gray in 2009. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Louth (Lee) and Linda Savini (John) and their son, Sean.

A viewing will be held on Monday, November 19 from 11am – 12 noon at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek where a service will begin at 12 noon. Entombment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery.
