Rose D. Glodek, age 94, formerly of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away at the Somerford House on November 26, 2018.
Rose was born in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of the late Jerry & Mary DiDomenico. She was married to her loving husband of 37 years, Joseph Glodek, until he passed in 2001.
Rose worked at Westinghouse Electric Corporation her whole adult life. Upon retirement, she and Joseph moved to Rehoboth Beach, where Rose became an active member of the Lewes Senior Center. She also had a passion for painting pictures. Rose enjoyed spending her time with family and friends and could listen to her brothers singing and telling jokes for hours on end.
Rose will be remembered fondly as a loving sister and aunt. She is survived by her brothers, Fred and Jerry (Carol); her brother-in-law, Joseph Maier; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Rose was preceded in death by her sister, Nora Maier; and her brothers, Alfredo, George and Vincent.
Rose’s family would like to thank the staff at both the Somerford House of Newark and of Seasons Hospice, especially Jon, for all of the wonderful care that they provided.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:00am.
Interment in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, DE, will be held privately with her family on Monday, December 17, 2018.
