Chris Salcedo, 47 of Wilmington, DE was suddenly taken from this life on Tuesday, July 12, 2016.

Born in White Plains, NY on April 7, 1969, Chris earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Delaware in 1992 and a Master of Arts in Education degree from Wilmington University in 2008.  He enjoyed his work as a teacher of English, science, history and music with the Christina and Colonial School Districts and as a private music teacher.

Chris was a passionate and wonderfully talented musician.  He mastered a variety of instruments and loved to write, perform and be in the presence of good music.  Throughout his career, Chris was a member of many bands, was the lead guitarist and vocalist with Nine Eyes, a bassist with the tribute band In The Light, and a performer for the annual Shine a Light on the Queen benefit concert.  He was friends with many other artists in the local music community.  Chris will be missed by all, but his spirit will live on through his music.

Chris will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 10 years, Ellen Geyer Salcedo; his parents, Ronald and Julie Salcedo; his brother, Mark Salcedo; and his sister, Leslie Anglesey.  He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Eileen Geyer; his sisters-in-law, Mary McLaughlin, Anne Geyer and Laura Geyer; and his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  Chris was predeceased by his father-in-law, Richard Geyer.

All are welcome to attend a memorial gathering celebrating Chris’ life and talent that will be held at the Queen Theater, 500 N. Market Street, Wilmington, Delaware 19801 on Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 3:00 to 9:00PM.
