Richard Marckese Obituary

Rick Marckese passed away unexpectedly at age 59 on Friday, July 6, 2018. 

Rick was born in Wilmington on July 30, 1958, son of the late Anthony F. III and Dorothy R. (Reed) Marckese.  He attended William Penn High School and proudly served our country in the United States Army, having achieved the rank of Sergeant.  Rick was employed with the United States Postal Service and retired in 2009 after 16 years of dedicated service. An avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time at the gun range.  He also liked to host cook-outs and entertain family and friends.  In his younger years, Rick enjoyed fishing. 

Rick is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Messick) Marckese; his children, Gabrielle Marckese, Tiffany Marckese (John Sinsabaugh) and Jasen Marckese; his step-son, Jacob Walker; his four grandchildren, Chase, Cole, Rylyn and Reese; his siblings, Anthony F. Marckese, Toni Marckese (Ralph Resine), Matthew Marckese (Donna) and Tyrone Marckese (Debbie); his nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Betty (Brittingham) Messick; his sisters-in-law, Donna Haughney and Pamela Beaumont (Jim); his brother-in-law, Christopher Messick (Ann Marie).

In addition to his parents, Rick was predeceased by his sister, Debbie Marckese; his father-in-law, Milford Messick.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Wednesday, July 11 from 9:30-11:00AM.  Funeral services will immediately follow.  Interment will be held privately in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
