Phillip A. Kennedy Jr., 61, of Wilmington, Delaware peacefully passed away in the comfort of his home on Sunday, November 24, 2019. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Phillip was born in Wilmington on February 6, 1958, son of the late Phillip, Sr. and Harriett (Strecker) Kennedy. A graduate of Thomas McKean High School, he was the owner and operator of Chimney Aid for 37 years. Phillip enjoyed fishing and crabbing, and was an avid Eagles fan. His most precious moments were those spent with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. Although he leaves them all behind, he will now spend eternity making up for lost time with his grandson, Wesley Ridley.
Phillip will be dearly missed by his children, Jessica Kennedy, Greg Kennedy, Phillip Kennedy III and wife, Samantha, Nicole Harris and husband, Calvin; his grandchildren, Dayton Lewis, Kayleigh Kennedy, Caiden Harris, Zachary Leonardi, Isla Kennedy, Joel Ridley, Jordan Ridley and Jayden Ridley. In addition, he is survived by his daughter-in-law, Nichole Kennedy; his brothers, Patrick Kennedy (Stacey), John Kennedy (Dori) and Joe Kennedy (Dawn); his sisters, Paula Wilson (Alan), Patti Still (Harry), Pamela Giles (David) and Annmarie Cuomo (Jimmy); many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Tuesday, December 3 from 4:30-6:00PM, with funeral services immediately following. Interment will be held privately.
