Patrick R. McLaughlin

Patrick R. McLaughlin, 28, of Newark, DE, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018.

He was born in West Chester, PA, son of Thomas and Mary Pat McLaughlin. He was a graduate of St. Edmond’s Academy, Delaware Military Academy, where he excelled in lacrosse, and attended West Virginia University.

Pat worked in the restaurant business. In his free time he enjoyed playing golf and attending concerts, especially the annual Firefly Festival in Dover, DE. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, Pat is survived by his siblings, Scott and Sean McLaughlin, Kathleen Tibbetts (Dan), and Aimee Fitzgerald (Russ); 5 nieces; 4 nephews; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, members of his extended family, and many friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, January 13 2018 at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church, 10 Old Church Road, Greenville, DE 19807, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:00am. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat’s memory can be made to the Delaware Military Academy, 112 Middleboro Road, Wilmington, DE 19804.
