Nancy G. (Gray) Slutter

Nancy Gray Slutter formerly of Newark, DE, and of New London, PA, died Wednesday, June 27th, at Christiana Hospital.   She was born in Newark in 1940, the 7th child of Thomas Carl and Violet Milnes Gray of Milford Crossroads.  A pretty, vivacious, and talented girl, Nancy graduated from Newark High School where she enjoyed sports, cheerleading, and an active social life.

She was preceded in death by her first husband John Eichel of Milford, N.J. and by her second husband Ronald J. Slutter of New London, PA.  She is survived by 5 children including Susan Miller of Baltimore, MD, Margaret Condit of Palm Coast, FL, Ronald Slutter, Jr. of West Grove, PA, Leigh Anna Moran of Newark, DE, and Loraine Savarese of Landenberg, PA.; 4 sisters including Thelma Jezyk of Landenberg, PA, Violet Wetzel of Mansfield, OH, Norma Welch of Milford, DE, and Sharon Knudsen of Seattle, WA; one brother, David Gray of Newark; and many nieces and nephews.  Sisters Emma Lou Gray and Georgiana Mackay, and brothers Thomas and Stephen Gray also preceded her in death.  She is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Amanda, Nicole, Matthew, Brittany, Jessica, Ashley, Tiffany, Ryan, Lauren, Alex, and MacKenzie and three great grandchildren: Axel, Harrison, and Hollins.

Nancy lived a quiet, pious life and all who knew her found her to be kind and understanding.   Her final social event was with her classmates of Newark High School Class of 1958 which was held just days before her passing.  She is now resting quietly in the presence of her Savior.  She will be missed by many.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 30th at the Avon Grove Nazarene Church, 240 State Road, West Grove, PA 19390. A viewing will begin at 9:30AM, with a funeral service at 11:00AM.  All are welcome to a luncheon at the church hall immediately following the funeral service. The burial service will be held privately for family.
