Mildred C. (Grant) Hopkins, 85, of New Castle, Delaware passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018.
Skip was born in Wilmington on December 15, 1932, daughter of the late George and Rose (Gerstley) Grant. A devoted homemaker, she and her husband, Jack, owned and operated The Lunch Box in Elsmere for a few years in the 1970s, and she also enjoyed making homemade chocolates. Skip was a talented bowling enthusiast, having participated in several local bowling leagues and achieved a perfect game of 300. She also competed in tournaments both locally and in other areas, and was a past recipient of the Delaware Bowler of the Year Award. Skip was an enthusiastic Phillies fan.
Her husband of 52 years, John C. Hopkins, passed away on January 24, 2011.
Skip is survived by her son, Gary Lee Hopkins; her sister, Frances Manucci; several nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held in the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle on Monday, August 20 from 10:00-11:00AM, with funeral services immediately following.
