Michael A. Jennings

Michael A. Jennings, 84, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017.

Michael was born in Ballinrobe, County Mayo, Ireland on November 11, 1933, son of the late John and Catherine (Walsh) Jennings, and came to the United States in 1969.  He was employed as a bartender with the Wilmington Country Club, having retired in 2007 after 38 years of enjoyable service.  A dedicated member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Michael also held memberships with the Irish Culture Club and New Castle County Irish Society. 

Michael is survived by his four brothers: John and wife, Rita of Birmingham, England, Anthony of Atlantic City, NJ, Joseph and wife, Sadie of Ballinrobe, County Mayo, Ireland, Gerard and wife, Evelyn of Hockessin.  He is also survived by his nephews in England and Ireland, as well as his great nephews and nieces.

The family would like to thank the staff of Ingleside Assisted Living, especially Keith Ropka, and Seasons Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion given to Michael.

Friends are invited to visit at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4th Street and Bancroft Parkway, Wilmington on Thursday, November 16 from 10:30-11:45AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00PM, followed by entombment in Cathedral Cemetery.
