Michael Anthony Franzoni

Michael Anthony Franzoni, age 51, of Bear, DE, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2018, embraced by his wife, sons and siblings.

Michael was a graduate of Newark High School and worked for many years as a pressman for a variety of local printing companies. He was an avid fan of Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Eagles.  Following a lifetime of unwavering support and 20+ ticket-holding seasons, Michael was elated to witness the first Eagles championship in February 2018. Michael was an accomplished bowler and enjoyed distance running, cooking, and tailgating.

Michael cherished his family above all else. He and his high school sweetheart, Anita, were married on June 2, 1990. Michael and Anita were blessed with two sons, Ryan and Alex – Michael’s absolute pride and joy.

Michael was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, son and friend. He will be remembered as a man who lived a life of purpose, filled with love, pride and laughter, surrounded by adoring friends and family. Michael will be dearly missed.

In addition to his beloved wife of 28 years, Anita (Jablonski) and his two sons, Ryan and Alex Franzoni, Michael is survived by his parents, Joseph and Corinne (Cozzi) Franzoni; his siblings, Joseph Jr., Lisa Tepe (Patrick), and Paul Franzoni; his in-laws, the Jablonski family; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, work colleagues, and an amazing group of friends he considered family. Michael was preceded in death by his older brother, Frank Franzoni.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am. on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at St. Margaret of Scotland Church, 2431 Frazer Road, Newark, DE 19702, where family and friends may visit beginning at 9 am. Interment will be held privately.
