Mary S. Martin

Mary S. Martin, age 99, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on Friday, August, 10, 2018.

Mary was born on January 11, 1919, in Jerome, PA. Mary was the daughter of Russian immigrants, Nickolai and Anastana (Emilianovich) Shevchuck. Mary came from West Virginia and settled in Delaware in 1965. She worked for the Dupont company in the Finance Department as a pension clerk. She loved gardening and reading autobiographies. She was an avid animal lover and donated to many animal organizations. 

She was predeceased by her husband, William V. Martin and her brothers, Nickolas, Pete and Harry Shevchuck. She is survived by her sister, Olga Ulrich, sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, August 17 from 10 am-12 noon at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek. A funeral service will follow at noon. Burial will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. Dupont Hwy., New Castle, DE
