Mary Ann (Karros) Shavack

Mary Ann (Karros) Shavack, 85, of Wilmington, DE peacefully passed away at Heartland Hospice House surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, February 9, 2017.

Mary Ann was born in Wilmington on March 10, 1931, daughter of the late Theodore and Mary (Riccio) Karros.  A devoted homemaker, she was a long time member of St. Elizabeth Parish and the Daughters of Isabella.

Her husband of 66 years, Neal J. Shavack, passed away on June 7, 2015.  Sadly, Mary Ann was predeceased by her son, Neal G. Shavack; and her daughter, Susan G. Shavack.

Mary Ann will be dearly missed by her sons, Paul and wife, Nadine, and Joseph; her grandchildren, Brett, Alyssa and Ericca; and her great grandchildren, Brett Joseph, Jr. and Paul William.  She is also survived by her sister, Pauline Smith; and many nieces, nephews and their families.

She was also predeceased by her brothers, Jim, George and Theodore Karros.

The family would like to thank the staff of Heartland Hospice House for the care and compassion given to Mary Ann.

The Mass of Christian Burial and interment will be held privately.
