Louis Robert Connell

Louis Robert Connell age 73 of Wilmington, Delaware, formerly of Elsmere, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, June 29, 2018.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware on October 6, 1944, Louis was the son of the late Charles Celestine Connell and Jeanette Agatha Thompson. He was a graduate of Conrad High School class of 1962, served in the National Guard, and was a sheet metal worker by trade. He worked for General Motors Corporation before joining the family roofing business, Chas. C. Connell Company. Louis will be remembered as a devoted family man who treasured raising his two daughters. He enjoyed muscle and sports cars, as well as his Triumph motorcycle. He also prized driving his boat on the Bohemia River.

Louis is survived by his loving wife Karen Lee Connell, daughters Michelle Rene Foster (Sean), Nichol Yvonne Mangino (Paul), daughter by love Tracy Soisson, and his beloved grandchildren Arlee Mae, Aiden Cross, Cavan Andrew, Connor Anthony, and Jillian Marie. He also leaves behind the Hastings family, Richie, Aimee, Greg, Nance, Matthew, Amy, Gracie, TJ, Nicholas, Jake, and Elise; and his brother Charles (Sue) and his sister Jeanette (Gene)as well as many nieces and nephews.

Families and friends are invited to visit Thursday, July 5 from 3 pm to 7 pm at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE, where a funeral service will be held Friday, July 6 at 11 am. Interment will follow in Silverbrook Cemetery.
