Linda Anne Marcinizyn Wolos of Newark, DE passed away peacefully into the loving arms of our Lord and savior surrounded by her loving family and friends on Thursday, September 21, 2017.

Linda was born in 1948 in Wilmington, DE to the late Stephen and Rose (Campellone) Marcinizyn. Linda was also preceded in death by her mother in law, Helen Wolos Lewis.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Kristin Wolos Kennedy & husband, Sean Kennedy of Newark, DE; son, Gregory Wolos & wife, Grace Nicklin of Cambridge, MA; and her husband, John (Jack) Wolos of Newark, DE. Missing her dearly will be her beautiful grandchildren, Addison and Chase Kennedy.

She is also survived by her brother, Stephen Marcinizyn and Cheryl Treacy of Lewes, DE; nieces and nephews, Roxanne, Paul, and Adam Marcinizyn. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Bernadette Szymanski, Edward and Elouise Wolos, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Linda was a lifelong resident of Wilmington and Newark areas of Delaware and grew up in Willow Run. She was a proud graduate of the Henry C. Conrad High School Class of ‘66, and was a member of the Marching Band twirling team. Both while in high school and in her many years as an alumni, she has been an active supporter of the school. On many occasions, Linda actively performed in local functions. She was also part of the planning committee for reunion gatherings for her graduating class.

Linda worked for many years with BP Oil and later at The Back Clinic, Dr. Gerald Lemole’s Cardiac Surgery Group at Christiana Care, Brandywine Urology Consultants.

Linda was active in her community and had various interests and hobbies. She was an excellent cook and collected cookbooks wherever she traveled. She loved entertaining and would enjoy trying out new recipes with family and friends. Linda was especially passionate of her volunteer work with the Drummond Hill Swim Team. She created many end of season slide shows for the swim team, acknowledging each and every swimmer. Many of those swimmers even remember her for that today. Linda loved spending time at the seashore with her girlfriends and loved playing cards during their time together.

Most importantly, Linda had a wonderful sense of humor and sparkle in her eyes even during her years of managing her debilitating illness. Her motto was “never give up hope”. She was a real people person with a welcoming smile and a great sense of humor - she always loved sharing a good joke. Linda was devoted to her family, and her proudest accomplishments in life were her children and grandchildren.

The family extends their gratitude and appreciation for the many years of outstanding medical care during her illness, and most recently the care provided by the staff at Somerford House and Seasons Hospice.
