Linda Scarola Obituary

A much-loved wife, mother, gammy, sister, aunt, cousin, colleague, and friend, Linda Scarola, 73, of Lewes, Delaware fought until her body would not allow her to fight anymore, and passed away in her sleep, in the early morning of Sunday, April 7, 2019. She was surrounded by those who love her.

Linda was born on March 31, 1946 in Flushing, New York to the late Anthony and Susan (Tulio) Incalcaterra.

Linda lived her life for her family – her husband of 54 years, Frank Scarola; her three children: Frank Scarola (Lisa), Kimberly (Scarola) Snyder, Kristin McKenney (James); 6 grandchildren: Patrick, Dominick, Brooke, Bria, Brayden and Brylie; and her sister Anne Giordano (Salvatore). In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Bowling.

A dedicated paraprofessional for the Red Clay Consolidated School District over the past 17 years, Mrs. S., as the students lovingly called her, made it her mission to make sure every student felt special and nurtured. She always went above and beyond to help in the classroom or just to put a smile on a colleague’s face. She worked hard and cared deeply for others.

Always upbeat and positive, Linda brought so much joy and laughter to everyone who knew her. Whether it was entertaining friends with a delicious home cooked meal, baking decadent treats to share with colleagues at school, or supporting her children or grandchildren at various school or sporting events, Linda so freely gave of herself.

Linda was known for her feisty, yet good sense of humor. She loved to try out new recipes, kept an immaculate house, and enjoyed playing (and typically winning) Phase 10, Five Crowns, and Mexican Train with family and friends. She never left home without her hair done and lipstick on.

Linda was a beautiful woman inside and out whose family was her world. Everything she did- she did for, and with her family in mind. Linda loved holidays and family get-togethers. She would spend hours cooking and preparing for her company. Family traditions were also very important to Linda. Every Christmas season, she would anxiously await her grandchildren’s arrival to help her “wake” and display her collection of holiday animals. Whether it be visits to the beach, a weekend getaway or week-long vacation - Linda was happiest when surrounded by those she loved. Those that loved her most were the happiest in her loving care. Linda - Mom - Gammy - will be missed more than words could ever convey.
