Larry Elmo Pearce

On Tuesday, April 2, 2019, Larry Elmo Pearce, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 55.

Larry was born on May 17, 1963 in Wilmington, DE to Franklin and Ida (Richardson) Pearce. On October 23, 1987, he married Cynthia Marie Biesen. On March 10, 1989, he became the father to his son, Alexander Biesen Pearce. For over 35 years Larry worked in the sales and rental of construction equipment, working the entirety of his career with the same company that would eventually become United Rental.

Larry was an incredibly vibrant man who poured passion into everything he did. A born talent in the kitchen, Larry’s food was rarely measured and always delicious. An exemplary martial artist, achieving his 3rd degree black belt in Tang Soo Do, Larry fought with strength and quickness that he worked tirelessly to achieve. A lover of music, Larry had an appreciation for everything from rock to classical to jazz and he was always eager to hear something new. While many knew Larry as a stoic man, those close to him knew his dry humor, his infectious laugh and his love of the best things in life.

Larry is survived by his wife, Cindi; his son, Alex; his mother, Ida; his sister, Donna; and his faithful hound, Olliver. He was preceded in death by his brother, Franklin; his sister, Patti; his father, Frank; and his dogs, Casey, Copper and Rusty. 

A viewing will be held at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Tuesday, April 9 from 2:00-4:00PM, immediately followed by a Celebrant Service in honor of Larry.  Per his wishes, Larry will be cremated after the service and his interment will be held privately.
