Kelvin Eugene Quiroz, 28, of Hockessin, DE, and Odenton, MD, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 after a valiant battle with cancer.
Kelvin was born in Oak Lawn, Illinois to Arturo and Zenaida Quiroz on September 15, 1989. Shortly after his family moved to Delaware, Kelvin would grow into the young man we love. In 2007 he completed high school at the Charter School of Wilmington and four years later he graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. He quickly jumped into a career as a software developer from a company based in Atlanta, Georgia. He would find himself moving around the country from West Virginia to Arkansas to Wisconsin and finally Maryland where he would finish his career with Rockwell Collins in Annapolis.
Kelvin enjoyed Japanese culture- he was fluent in Japanese and visited Japan in 2016 in one of many enjoyable times in his life. He also loved cooking and more importantly, eating. Kelvin enjoyed creating new meals and had countless kitchen tools and books to aid his craft. Kelvin was a true foodie, always venturing to find new cuisines.
Kelvin was a true fighter until the end. He never wanted his family to worry about him and could even joke about his situation. He would never complain about his hardships. He was the youngest brother but he was the one taking care of the rest of the family in the end.
In addition to his parents, Arturo and Zenaida, Kelvin is survived by his two brothers, Kristofer and Kristian.
Friends and family are invited to his celebration of life. A viewing will be held on Monday, August 13 from 4:00-7:00PM at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 14 at 10:00AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808.
