Keh-Chin Sun

Dr. Keh-Chin (Wesley) Sun peacefully passed away at the age of 95, surrounded by his family, at his son’s house in Newark, DE, on June 9, 2017.  

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Jey Chou, along with his 5 children – Shao-Chou Sun, Shao-Nan Sun, Shao-Tang Sun, Shao-Ping Sun and Shao-Min Sun – 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Keh-Chin was born in Tanghe County Henan Province, China on October 4, 1922. He graduated from National Beijing Normal University with a degree in Biology. He was a Professor of Biology for over 4 decades at Tunghai University in Taiwan. His biology textbooks were the required curriculum for all high school students, nationally.  Many of his students and mentees went on to become distinguished international scholars and leaders.

Following his retirement, he moved to Delaware with his wife to spend his free time with his children and grandchildren. The entire family celebrated every holiday and family milestone together, and he was always proudest of how close-knit and supportive his entire family was of one another. 

Services will be held at Wilmington Community Evangelical Church, 1512 Brackenville Road, Hockessin, DE 19707 at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 17, 2017 where a viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am.  Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks you to send donations to Wilmington Community Evangelical Church with a note “In Memory of Keh-Chin Sun.”
