Judith Ann Roberts (Robinson), age 70, passed away peacefully, surrounded and comforted by her devoted family on Sunday June 17th, 2018. Judy courageously battled a long illness for 10 years.
She was a fun loving person, happily married for almost 40 years, had 3 children who have been happy and successful. Her early married years were full of great memories of family times and vacations, and her grandchildren have the “best parents” who love them as she did.
Judy was retired from Astra Zeneca where she worked for over 30 years having worked her way up to marketing research analyst from the secretarial pool when the company was called Atlas, later ICI. When her illness became debilitating, Judy moved to Westin Assisted Living, where she lived since 2008 and brought joy to the residents there every day. Judy was known for her love of jigsaw puzzles, bingo, and reading, but mostly for her generosity and involvement with the residents of Westin. She saw this as her ministry which was a reflection of her strong faith in God.
Her greatest joy and most important achievement was being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her children, Michelle Hennessy (Patrick), Kristine Woods and Richard Jeffrey Roberts, and grandchildren, Luke, Benjamin, Jimmy and Harrison, and Jack. She was also deeply dedicated to and is survived by her seven siblings and her 90 year old mother, Midge Robinson.
Judy is predeceased by her husband, Richard; her father, Harold Robinson; her grandmother, Mae Robinson.
She is survived by her seven siblings: Timothy Robinson (Vivian), Daniel Robinson (Carol), Michael Robinson (Bridget), Sue Thomas (Brian), Patricia Zaza (Anthony), Mary Berger (David), and Theresa Crowe (Kevin) and her mother, Midge Robinson.
Judy attended St. Helena’s grade school, Padua Academy, and Goldey- Beacom College. She loved to travel, especially to the Jersey Shore and the Caribbean. As a teenager, she danced on live TV on American Bandstand where Frankie Valli kissed her on the cheek! She also loved horse racing and playing cards. She also sold Avon for many years and won numerous sales awards.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 21 at 11:30 am at St. Helena's Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike. Wilmington, where friends visit after 10:30. Burial will be in Cathedral Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer‘s Association, 399 Market St., Suite 102, Philadelphia., PA 19106.
