Joseph A. Grodzicki “Rip”, age 62, passed away at home on September 25, 2018.
Born in Wilmington, DE, Joe was the son of the late Bernard and Margaret (Cook) Grodzicki, He was a graduate of Wilmington High School class of 1974 and worked for many years in the automotive parts and service industry.
Joe enjoyed spending time at home watching movies or sports and listening to music. He also enjoyed watching the horse races at Delaware Park, fishing, cooking and eating crabs with his family and making his famous potato salad for all to eat. He will also be remembered for his love of gifting scratch off lottery tickets and was always excited to see the recipient win.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Bernard, “Soup”, Grodzicki.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennie Grodzicki Pfeifer, her husband Nate and his grand dog, Luna, who he loved to spoil with lots of treats; his niece, Missy Grodzicki Crawford, her husband Pat and his nephews, Patrick Jr. and Dylan; and many dear friends, some of whom he has known since grade school.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 1 at 6:30 pm at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek where friends may visit after 5:30.
