Joseph Parker III Obituary

Joseph Franklin Parker III, age 32, of Wilmington, DE passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018.

He was born in Wilmington, DE, son of Joseph and Lin Parker. He was a graduate of St. Mark’s High School and Oglethorpe University.

Joseph was best known for being full of life - with his infectious smile, and as his grandmother used to say, his bright eyes. Joseph grew up with an immense adoration for his mother and father and loved working beside them, from plowing snow and working at their trucking business, to lending a hand wherever he was needed.

He picked up most of his favorite hobbies from Big Joe. He was an avid golfer with the nickname “Smokin’ Joe” for his amazing long drives, awards and scholarships. With his father, Joseph also developed his passion for being on the water; whether on cruises traveling the world, jet skiing, or navigating the family yacht, they created many memories together. He loved classic cars, just like his dad, including his favorite, the old Pontiac Judge.

In the short time we got to spend with Joseph, he touched our lives deeply and had a truly profound and lasting impression on so many people he met. He lived a full life - taking advantage of the opportunities to travel and gain worldly experiences that helped shape him into the vibrant, generous and kind young man that we all knew and loved.

Joseph is preceded in death by his uncles, Randy Parker, Michael Parker, and Donald Postemsky; as well as his sister, Dory Ann Parker.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Joseph and Lin Parker; his Aunt Sally and Uncle Brad Ritchie; and the countless friends he had. He will be dearly missed.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Resurrection Parish, 3000 Videre Drive, Wilmington, DE 19808.
