Joseph G. Marinari, age 88, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018.
He was born in Shamokin, PA, son of the late Peter and Anna (Shivetts) Marinari and served honorably in the US Army at the end of the Korean War. Upon his discharge, he moved to Wilmington, DE to work for Anchor Motor Freight, where he was a member of the Teamsters.
Joe was a very hard worker and tried to instill his work ethic in his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandpa and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Constance (Chicoski) Marinari; his daughters, Mary Marinari and Susan Akutsu (Norio); his grandchildren, Ethan and Adam Udovich, and Mitch, Masayoshi, Minna and Karina Akutsu; as well as several nieces, nephews, and members of his extended family.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his 7 siblings; and his son, Joseph Marinari.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Monday, December 10, 2018 at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:00am. Interment will be held in All Saints Cemetery.
