Harvey Ray Morris, Sr. of Newark, DE peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 11, 2019 at the age of 90.
Harvey was born in Wilmington, Delaware on December 16, 1928, son of the late John and Mary Morris. A veteran of the United States Army, he served our country during WWII and the Korean War. Following the war, he became established in the restaurant business.
He later used his carpentry skills which evolved into becoming a housing developer. He found his true passion later in life when he volunteered for Habitat for Humanity.
Harvey was a family man and took great pride in his wife and six children. He always found the time to take family trips and spend family time together.
Harvey is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Agnes (Czachorowski) Morris; their 6 children, Deborah Steimer (Mark), Donna Morris-Snoussi (Mustapha), Harvey Morris (Elaine), Diane Morris, John Morris and Dawn Carey (Alex); their 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; his brother, Louis Morris (Ann). He was predeceased by his two brothers, John and Ben Morris.
The family would like to thank Brackenville Center for the exceptional and compassionate care they provided.
Visitation will be held at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Thursday, January 17 from 10:00-11:30AM, immediately followed by a Remembrance Service. Family and close friends are welcome to the interment in All Saints Cemetery.
