Geraldine L. (Chambers) Glynn

Geraldine L. Glynn, 77, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at home on January 5, 2019.  Jeri’s work here was complete and it was time to rejoin the old gang.  She was preceded in death by Jimmy Glynn, her beloved husband of more than fifty years; her parents Joe and Nellie Chambers; and many close friends and family, all waiting to welcome her with open arms.

Jeri was born in Havre de Grace, MD, then resided in Wilmington, DE where she developed her love of sports; from playing basketball for Wilmington High School to endless hours of coaching Little League Softball, to faithfully following the Nittany Lions.  However, sports fell short to her love of family, especially to time spent at the beach with her grandchildren, and lunches with her best friends which meant so much.

In addition to raising a family, Jeri managed to have a fulfilling career working for the Helen Graham Cancer Center from which she retired after many years of faithful service.

Jeri is survived by her children, Michelle Brackin (Russell), Theresa McCloy (Dave), and Michael Glynn (Diane); her grandchildren, R.J., Michael, Marissa, Melanie and Alex, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.  She will be sadly missed.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30pm on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends are invited to visit beginning at 2:30pm. Interment will be private.
