George E. Mulshenock, age 79, of Wilmington, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at home with family by his side after a short battle with cancer.

Born on March 25, 1938 in Wilmington, DE, George was the son of the late George E. Mulshenock, Sr. and Helen (Skrzec) Mulshenock. He attended St. Paul’s School and graduated from Wilmington High School.  George proudly served his country in the U.S Army 498th Combat Engineer Battalion. A Master Electrician by trade, George was a member of IBEW Local 313 for 61 years and co-owner of US Electric, Inc. 

George was an avid softball player of many years, playing into his mid-50’s.  He was a lifetime member of Wilmington Turners and an active member of Defiance Athletic Association and Pulaski Legion.  George had many hobbies and interests, but he most enjoyed being in the company of his family and friends.

George is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marcella; his son, Kenny; his daughters, Michele Nordmark (Brian), Marie Fenimore (Jim), Laura Stephenson (Dave); his grandchildren, Kyle and Alex Mulshenock, Brittany and Christina Nordmark, Rachel and Ryan Fenimore, Sophia and Ava Stephenson; his sisters, Eleanor Padovani and Anna Nowocin and  many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his sister, Sara Kelly.

A Mass of Christian Burial & visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 16th at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin.  Visitation will begin at 9am and Mass of Christian Burial at 11am.  Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in George’s memory to St. Mary of the Assumption Lazarus Ministry, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707.
