Francis X. Daney died at Foulk Manor South on Monday, November 26, 2018.
Francis was born and raised in Wilmington Delaware. He graduated from Wilmington High School and Goldey Beacom College. He retired in 1991 from the DuPont Company after 36 years.
Francis served his country during the Korean War with the 40th Infantry Division. He was a member of the Korean War Veterans Association, served as adjutant for several years, and participated in their various activities. He was also a member of the American Legion.
After his retirement, Francis volunteered for years in the mail room at A.I. Institute for Children as well as a few local nursing homes.
Francis is survived by his daughter, Charleen Jaskulski and son-in-law, Keith Jaskulski of Wilmington. He also has two sister-in-laws: Dolores Coco of Claymont and Arlene Daney of Greenville as well as many nieces and nephews.
Francis was predeceased by his wife of 32 years, Jacqueline Daney; his parents Hugh and Margaret Daney; his sister, Marian T. Daney and three brothers, Hugh J. Daney, Jr., Leo E. Daney and Bernard J. Daney.
Charleen and Keith would like to extend a special thank you to the management, nursing, and staff of both Foulk Manor South and Shipley Manor for all they did for Dad over the years. It is and will always be greatly appreciated!
Family and friends may visit from 10 to 11 AM on Monday, December 3 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 901 E. Newport Pike, Wilmington, DE 19804, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 AM. Entombment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery.
