Elizabeth A. (Yasik) Seningen, 91, of Wilmington, Delaware peacefully passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018.
Betty was born in Wilmington on December 21, 1926, daughter of the late Stanley and Margaret (Findley) Yasik. A member of the first graduating class of St. Elizabeth High School, she participated as a drummer in the school band. Betty was a devoted homemaker and passionate with her garden, where she cared for many generations of birds, hummingbirds, deer and squirrels. She enjoyed going to the beach in the summer, and sightseeing the colorful Pocono Mountains in the fall. More recently, Betty was a member of Resurrection Parish and became an avid fan of the blues band, Bad Juju.
Her husband, Harry C. Seningen, passed away on November 23, 1993.
Betty will be lovingly remembered by her sons, James, Harry (Margaret), and Michael; her grandsons, James Jr., Patrick, and Chris; and her great grandchildren, Caeli, Tiernan, Hannah, and Holden. She is also survived by her brother, Stanley Yasik; her sister, Margaret Hyrnyck; her niece, Carla Ottenheimer; her nephew, David Buckwalter.
She was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Buckwalter.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Thursday, December 6 from 5:00-7:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Parish of the Resurrection, 3000 Skyline Drive, Wilmington on Friday, December 7 at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
