Elaine “Teeter” Salega Amigo, 70, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 7, 2018.
Elaine was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 13, 1947, daughter of the late Carl and Kathleen Elaine (O’Donnell) Salega, and was a graduate of St. Hubert’s High School. She was employed as a pharmacy technician with Happy Harry’s/Walgreens for 19 years, and later worked in the aftercare program at Holy Angels School. Elaine was a member of St. John the Beloved Parish and the Mid County Senior Center, where she enjoyed weekly bingo games and socializing with her many friends.
Elaine was devoted to her beloved family, especially her grandchildren. She never missed an important event in the lives of her grandchildren, both here and on the West Coast. She enjoyed traveling and recently completed a cross country road adventure with her husband, Dan. Elaine also enjoyed trying her luck at the Delaware Park Casino, shopping and dining out. She was a talented cook who delighted in preparing Italian and Polish dishes.
Elaine will be dearly missed by her husband of 51 years, Daniel R. Amigo; her daughters, Tracey Salvacion and husband, Roehl, and grandchildren Noah (Izabella) and Maya, and Dana Shannon and husband, Wayne and grandchildren, Kayla, Wayne, and Jeremy. She is also survived by her brother, Carl Salega and wife, Janet; her sister, Judith White; her niece, Tammie Kravitz and husband, Brian, and their children, Lycia, Brian, Brayden; her Goddaughter, Dawn; her dearest friends, Marilyn and Gene Paulino. Elaine leaves many extended family members in Philadelphia, as well as Amigo family members in New Jersey and New York.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 13 from 2:30-4:30PM, immediately followed by a Catholic Funeral Service at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek, Wilmington, DE 19808. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Elaine may be made to Immaculate Conception School, 452 Bow Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
