Doris M. (Ogle) Fogarty

Doris M. Fogarty, 82, of Newport, DE, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017.

Born in Wilmington, the daughter of the late George and Ruth Deakyne Ogle, she was a graduate of Wilmington High School. Doris went on to work as a hairdresser; then in sales with Wannamaker’s; and then ultimately as a billing representative for Christiana Care.

She enjoyed old movies, spending time at the family farm, taking trips to the beach – both Cape May, NJ and the Delaware beaches; and was an avid patron of QVC.

Above all else, she cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her sons, Michael (Doris Iaconi) and Kevin (Mariann); her grandchildren, Angela, Lisa, Matthew and Bradley Fogarty, and Matthew Bailey (Danelle); her three great-grandchildren, Daniel and Turner Cash Bailey and Layla Fogarty; her sister, Elizabeth Ruth Ogle Waters; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, James Fogarty; and Vincent Papa; and 2 sisters and 1 brother.

A viewing will be held from 5:00 – 7:00pm on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where a funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Silverbrook Cemetery.
