Charles Harwell Obituary

Charles W. Harwell, 64, of Warwick, Rhode Island, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 27, 2018.

Charlie was born in Wilmington on May 30, 1954, son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Sparks) Harwell.  A resident of Warwick for more than 25 years, he was employed as a computer software engineer with GTech Corporation and Iwaki American/Walchem Corporation, having retired in 2014.  Following his retirement, Charlie worked on a part time basis with Vitae Industries.  He was an avid train enthusiast and reader of science fiction. He loved to travel and recently began target shooting. 

Charlie is survived by his sisters, Jayne Harwell and Catheren Harwell; his brother, David Harwell and wife, Teri; his nephew, Joseph Harwell; several cousins.

Family and friends are invited to visit at St. Joseph Church, 371 E. Main Street, Middletown on Monday, December 10 from 10:00-10:45AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM, immediately followed by interment in Old Bohemia Cemetery, Warwick, Maryland.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Charlie may be made to the Rhode Island Foundation Civic Leadership Fund, One Union Station, Providence, RI 02903 (www.rifoundation.org).
