Annjeanette Siegel Bleakney, age 87, of Wilmington, DE, passed away at home on Sunday, July 22, 2018.
She was born in Erie, PA, daughter of the late Raymond F. Siegel, and Mildred Mathay Siegel.
Known simply as “Ann” by friends and family, she met her husband, Charles, after World War II at Edinboro University, PA. She was a Teacher’s Aide at Richardson Park Elementary in the Red Clay Creek Consolidated School District.
Ann enjoyed children, knitting, tending to plants and flowers, swimming and the Jersey shore. She was an avid traveler with her husband and friends in Chuck's Travel Club. She enjoyed her summer home with family and friends in Cape May, NJ for many years. Ann was a member of Limestone Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Deacon and was active in the Women's Ministry.
Her family would like to acknowledge the attentive and compassionate support and friendship from close friends and the congregation of Limestone Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Bleakney, Jr. of Wilmington, DE; and her daughter, Leslie Ann Perry of Goffstown, NH.
She is survived by her brother, Richard R. Siegel of E. Harwich, MA; and her son, David.
Friends may attend a Memorial Service at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Limestone Presbyterian Church, 3201 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808.
