Aldina (Fontana) Volpe, 91, of Hockessin, Delaware passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.
Mrs. Volpe was born in the Abruzzo region of Italy on February 16, 1927, daughter of the late Nicola and Maria (Molinari) Fontana. She joined her husband, Sante, in the United States, first settling in Philadelphia before making Delaware their home. As a loving and devoted homemaker, her greatest joy in life was being surrounded by her family.
Her beloved husband of 62 years, Sante Volpe, passed away on December 13, 2008. Sadly, she was predeceased by three daughters, Silvana Volpe, Gina Sharp and Rita Branum; her son-in-law, Carl Blevins. In addition, she was predeceased by her brothers, Dionigio, Dario, Giuseppe and Mario; her sister, Rose.
Mrs. Volpe will be dearly missed by her daughter, Maria Blevins; her granddaughter, Sandi Cathcart; her great grandchildren, Deanna Bergman, Bobby and Ethan Ruby.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Monday, September 24 from 9:30-11:00AM. A Catholic funeral service will begin at 11:00AM, followed by entombment in All Saints Cemetery.
