Alan Peoples, Sr. Obituary

Alan Baxter Peoples, Sr., 68, peacefully passed away in the comfort of his home while surrounded by loving family on Monday, August 6, 2018.

Alan was born in Wilmington on November 14, 1949, son of the late William and Elsie (Merkel) Peoples.  He began his career as a physical therapist at the A.I. duPont Institute for Children, and then co-founded Blue Hen Physical Therapy, where he worked for 20 years.  For the last 5 years, he was the proud owner of Maple Shade Farm Paintball, where he enjoyed meeting many new people.  A member of Love of Christ Church, Alan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.

Alan is survived by his wife, Cathy Biddle Peoples; his sons, Alan B. Jr. and wife, Allison, Robert and wife, Kristen, Jeffrey and wife, Joy; his beloved grandchildren, Keenan, Zac, Nolan, Clara, Elizabeth; and his mother-in-law, Norma Biddle.

A visitation will be held at Love of Christ Church, 2157 Bear Corbitt Road, Bear, DE 19701 on Thursday, August 9 from 10:00AM-11:00AM, with funeral services immediately following.

All are welcome to celebrate Alan’s life at a memorial reception at the Delaware City Fire Hall, 815 5th Street, Delaware City, DE 19706.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Alan may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 405 E. Marsh Lane, Newport, DE 19804 or Love of Christ Church.
