Susan M. (Wallace) Andrews

Susan M. Andrews (nee Wallace), age 55 passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Friday, November 19, 2021.

Susan was born in 1966, raised in New Castle, DE and resided in Pike Creek, DE. Susan graduated from Padua Academy in 1984 and obtained her Associates Degree from Delaware Tech. She was employed by Pathmark/Acme for over 35 years as a pharmacy technician.

Susan was a fiercely dedicated mother of her two daughters, raising them to lead successful careers. She was very involved in her children’s activities by volunteering as Brownie Leader, Homeroom Mom, and attending all sporting events.

She and her loving husband, Jim, enjoyed walks at Winterthur and traveling the United States. She spent many summers at the beach in Fenwick, DE with family and friends. Family came first and was her number one priority in life, a value she instilled in all those around her.

Susan was known for being the hostess and stylist of the family. Within the last year she planned two incredible weddings and a baby shower. She was a planner until the end.

She was preceded in death by her father, George T. Wallace, Jr. Susan is survived and will be dearly missed by her husband of 32 years, James Andrews; her daughters, Katie (Rand) Jackson, Kristina (Jamie) Treml; her mother, Peggy Wallace; her sister, Debbie (Todd) Fisher; her father-in-law, James (Lorraine) Andrews; her mother-in-law, Janet (Dave) Allen; her brother-in-law, Jeff (Robin) Andrews, and many nephews, nieces, and close family friends.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses at Christiana Hospital.

Family and friends are invited to the viewing at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Friday, November 26 from 3:00-6:00PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington on Saturday, November 27 at 10:00AM, followed by interment in Our Lady of Peace Garden at St. Peter the Apostle Cemetery, New Castle.
