ReGina Wyatt Obituary

Regina Barbara “Gina” Wyatt was born November 8, 1980, in Wilmington, Delaware and passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 21, 2021, surrounded by loving family. Gina was preceded in death by her mother, Cecilia (O’Leary) Wyatt (Thornton). She is survived by her father, Jim Wyatt Jr.; stepmom, Deborah Wyatt; stepfather, Bill Thornton; her brother and best friend, James M. ”Jimmy” Wyatt III; and stepsister, Tiffany Zimath.

Gina is also survived by her loving extended family including aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

After graduating from high school, Gina pursued a career working at Christiana Care as a patient care tech. She worked for John Reinhardt’s office. She loved Dr. Reinhardt and his staff and kept them as friends for life.

Gina volunteered extensively as a Girl Scout leader for years, mentoring others and sharing her many talents including arts, crafts, sewing, quilting, crocheting, embroidering, and gardening. Gina loved “gaming” with her brother and good friends, especially dungeons and dragons.

From the moment Gina was born as a precious and beautiful blonde haired, blue eyed angel, she was a light in this world. Her brother welcomed her birth and cherished sharing life with her. Jimmy promised his mother he would always take care of her. The two were so very close and created so many happy memories together.

Some of those precious memories include road trips the family would take to visit her mom’s friends Blanca and Esther in New York City, and road trips to Salem, Massachusetts, and Disney World, and the homes of family. Gina always loved creating those precious memories.

Every Christmas Gina, Jimmy, and Ce would lovingly wrap and deliver countless boxes and bags of presents to ensure friends, family, neighbors, and extended relatives had something to open on Christmas. Although not wealthy, Gina, Jimmy, and Ce adopted several families and neighbors over the years and made sure to drop off food and checked in on those in need for so very many years.

Gina adored her big extended family and spent so many Christmases, Easters, Thanksgivings, birthdays, and celebrations creating wonderful memories with all those she loved. Like her mom, Gina was strong, courageous, kind, selfless, generous, and lived each day with tireless devotion to her family.  Gina adored her brother and was so very proud of Jimmy’s accomplishments and courage.
