Virginia "Ginny" M. (Fleetwood) Harris

Virginia “Ginny” M. Harris, age 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, with her loving family by her side.

Born in Frankford, DE, Ginny was the daughter of the late Charles and Mae Fleetwood. She was a graduate of Wilmington High School Class of 1948.

Ginny was all about her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a great cook and loved hosting all of the holidays and having the family together. Through the years, Ginny loved to travel with her husband. She was proud to have visited every state but Alaska. In her leisure time, Ginny was an avid reader.

Ginny was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, William E. Harris, Sr. She is survived by her sons, William E. Harris, Jr. (Patricia) and Michael Harris (Karen); her daughter, Karen A. Reed (the late Carl “Butch”); her four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; as well as her brother, Charles Fleetwood (Barbara).

Family and friends may visit from 10 to 11 AM on Wednesday, May 16 at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808, where a Celebration of Ginny’s Life will begin at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Union Hill Cemetery in Kennett Square, PA.
