Marian Schell Bieber passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, May 14, 2018.
She was born in Turbotville, PA, on May 16, 1928 to Wilbur S. and Margaret Rishel Schell. She was lovingly known as “Moppy,” the name she chose for herself as a grandmother.
Marian graduated from Turbotville High School in 1946 and went on to attend the Pittsburgh School of Design. She married her devoted husband, William R. Bieber in 1953. They lived in Glenmoore, PA, and later moved to Newark, Delaware. There, Marian bred and showed poodles and later sold real estate.
A spirited and creative woman of many interests and hobbies, Marian loved gardening, bird watching, baking (especially her famous Christmas cookies), designing and sewing and riling people up about politics and anything controversial. Fiercely independent, there just wasn’t anything that she couldn’t do.
She is pre-deceased by her parents and her sister, Carolyn. She is survived by her husband, William “Poppy,” her brother, William and her sister-in-law Janet; sister, Glenda (Mike); daughters, Carole and Robin; grand-children, Soren, Emily (Brian), Lily (Aaron) and Mason and nieces and nephews.
She will also be deeply missed by her two fiery and very “Moppy-like" great-granddaughters, Clementine Rose and Poppy Margaret. We are ever grateful to her special helpers, Tasha, Diana, Dawn, Ms O, Kamilah and Sue.
