Juanita Eddy Shay

Juanita Eddy Shay age, 93, died on Sunday, February 25, 2018 in Manor Care Nursing Facility, Pike Creek.

She was the daughter of J.W. Eddy (Sam) and Haidee Wells Eddy. She is survived by her husband,  J. Marshall Shay with whom she shared 67 years of marriage. She has two daughters, Nancy DeLong and her husband, Dennis of Glen Mills PA and Bonny Rogers and her husband, Alan of Wilmington DE.

Also surviving are her four grandchildren, Dana DeLong, Jill Rogers, Tim Rogers (Mindy) and Alex DeLong (Michele). She also has three great grandchildren, Bella Rose Rogers, Nathan Alexander DeLong and Emily Ann DeLong.

She was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church in Stanton, DE for over 50 Years. She was employed by the New Castle County School System working in the McKean High School Library as an aide. Juanita retired in 1984.

She will be dearly missed by her loving family. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and the she adored seeing and hearing all about her great grandchildren.

Juanita’s service will be held on Thursday, March 1 at 11 am in the chapel at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. Dupont Hwy., New Castle. Burial will be private in the adjoining memorial park. A celebration of Juanita’s life will be held following the burial.
