Virgina B. DiSabatino (nee Wright)

Virginia B. DiSabatino, age 87, of Newark, DE passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, surrounded by her family. Born in West Chester, PA on August 7, 1930 to the late William and Marion Wright, Virginia moved to Delaware with her husband and children in the early 1960’s.  She retired from Newark Day Nursery, where she worked as a bookkeeper.

Ginny was a loving mother and grandmother and one of the nicest people you’d ever meet, always greeting you with a big smile.  She was an avid Flyers and Phillies fan and enjoyed doing cross-stitch, needlepoint and puzzles of any kind. She loved playing cards and games, especially the slot machines at the casinos with her husband Mario. Ginny loved nothing more than time spent with her family. 

She is preceded in death by the love of her life, beloved husband of 50 years, Mario DiSabatino.  Ginny is survived by her daughter, JoAnn DiSabatino of Newark, daughter, Lori DiSabatino-Griffith & husband, Angelo Griffith of Wilmington and her very special granddaughter, Carla Fritz.  She is also survived by her sister, Beverly Malavolta of West Chester and her brother, William Wright of Washington State.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Monday, December 18th from 5:00-7:00pm at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 19th at 10:00am.  Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
