My Uncle Tom was the coolest, sharpest dressed man I knew growing up. He always paid us good for washing his cars. When we all had to go to California to bury Momma, I was worried how we could afford the whole expense. When we all sat down with the director, Tom asked what the cost was and then pulled a wad of cash from his suit and paid for it in full. Whenever I hear a Ray Charles song I always think of my uncle Tom. His advice: live by the New Testament and you will have a good life.
Love,
Mary Evelyn's son, Thomas Forest Wright
