Thomas E. McCarthy

Thomas E. McCarthy, 73, of Massillon, OH peacefully passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017.

Tom was born in Queens, New York on November 21, 1943, son of the late John Thomas, Sr. and Elizabeth Rose (Kaffenberger) McCarthy.  He was a graduate of La Salle Academy in New York City and briefly attended St. Francis College in Brooklyn.  In his younger years, Tom was an avid sportsman and excelled at basketball.  On August 7, 1965 he married Catherine Cecelia Ronan in Astoria, NY. Thomas was employed as a sales professional and was always a top performer. 

 Tom’s easy going nature and sense of humor made him easy to like.  He enjoyed vacations, having a laugh, a good meal, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Walker and NYC.  As of late, he enjoyed his grandchildren and rooting them on at their sporting events. 

 His beloved wife, Catherine Ronan McCarthy, passed away on January 14, 2000.

Tom is survived his children, Theresa Stout and husband, Mark, Brian McCarthy and wife, Amanda Fowler; his grandchildren, Katie, Jillian and Luke Stout, Anna and Walker McCarthy; his siblings, Joan Byrnes, Margaret “Peggy” Cannon, John McCarthy.

Family and friends are invited to visit at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay Street, West Chester, PA on Tuesday, August 29 from 10:15-10:45AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM.  Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
