Thelma E. (Ciconte) Malantrucolo

On February 9, 2017 our beloved mother and grandmother, Thelma E. Malantrucolo, age 88, lost her battle with cancer.

She was a 1948 graduate of Conrad High School. She met the love of her life in 1951 and they were married in August of 1954. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary and in November of that same year, she lost the love of her life. From that day forward for the next 38 years she was always our strength and our rock in every way possible.

Our mother was a baker by trade and worked for Hearn Brothers and IGA market. The greatest gift our mother had was becoming a grandmother. She took that role on with love and pride. We know in our hearts she is in a better place now and we know she will be looking down on us always. She was one of the most understanding persons and would do anything for anyone. Heaven gained an angel today.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas J. Ciconte and her second husband, Angelo F. Malantrucolo. We would like to thank the staff at Manor Care Foulk Rd and Dr. Charles Schneider for their compassionate care.

She is survived by her four children; her sons, Anthony W. Ciconte of Wilmington and Thomas J. Ciconte and his wife, Mary of Anaheim, CA; her daughter, Amelia J. Gibbons and her husband, Bayard of New Castle and her son, Phillip J. Ciconte and his wife, Lisa of Newark.

She is also survived by four grandsons; Christopher M. Gibbons and his wife, Danielle of New Castle, John and Nicholas of Anaheim, CA and Vincent Ciconte of Newark.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15 from 5-7 pm at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 16 at 10 am. Interment will be n All Saints Cemetery.
