Terrence W. Marlowe, age 69, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 18, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Born in Bethesda, MD, he was the son of the late Thomas W. and Vivian Marlowe.
Terry was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam War era. He was very patriotic and proud of his military service. For over 30 years, he was a mail processor for the U.S. Postal Service at Hares Corner.
Family was the center of Terry’s world. He was a terrific husband and father, as well as a good friend. Terry especially loved spending time with his granddaughter, Jadah. Terry’s family will treasure his constant support in every way, as well as his easy going nature.
In his spare time, Terry enjoyed watching any sports activities. He was a diehard Washington Redskins fan. Terry was also an avid animal lover.
Terry is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Leslie C. (Pellegrino) Marlowe; her sons, David Marlowe (Tanya) and Jason E. Marlowe; his grandchildren, Jadah Marlowe, Adaline Stetter, Jordyn, Jason,Jr. Terrence R, and Destiny Marlowe, Alexsis, Ashlee, Adreanna and Anya; and his mother-in-law, Catharine M. Pellegrino. He will also be dearly missed by his beloved dogs, Kane and Casey. Terry was predeceased by his parents and his grandson, Michael.
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, May 23 from 5 to 7 PM at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808. A service will be held on Wednesday, May 24 at 10 AM in the chapel at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE 19701.
