Our sweet Sarah Rose, age 25, left this earth to soar with the angels on Monday, June 12, 2017, as the result of an automobile accident.

Sarah graduated from Sanford School in 2010, and enjoyed basketball, cross-country, winter track, and lacrosse through her high school years.  She earned 12 varsity letters and captained her lacrosse and cross-country teams.  At graduation, Sarah was named the Outstanding Senior Female Athlete, an award she coveted.

She was a member of the Delaware AAU PAL Wildcats for four years, qualifying for national tournament play in Phoenix, Nashville, and Orlando.  In addition, Sarah enjoyed summer swimming for the Delaware National Country Club Swim Team and the many friends she made through sports.  Later, she could be found at the gym lifting weights, running on the treadmill, and most importantly, making new friends.  Her dedication to fitness and nutrition was inspiring to many.

Spending time with her family, Sarah Rose loved traveling to Aruba, Tennessee, Costa Rica, the beach, the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Parks, to name a few.  She thoroughly enjoyed dining out and trying new dishes with loved ones and friends.

Sarah attended the University of Delaware and studied Behavioral Science.  Most recently, she worked at The Dog Stop caring for the many dogs that boarded there, each of whom she loved and thought of as her own.  She was the most important person in the world to her own dog, Daisy, who gave her a hero’s welcome every time she arrived home.

Sarah’s personal relationships were what she valued most in life; whether to comfort, love, humor, or console.  Always welcoming, she had the ability to make a person feel at ease and accepted.  Sarah’s positive energy would fill any room.  We will all miss her joyful smile, the sparkle in her eyes, and her silly, infectious laugh.

Sarah Rose was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Robert F. Massaferi; maternal grandfather, Robert Wright; and uncle, Christopher Massaferi.

She is survived by her parents, Bob Massaferi, and Jill and Larry Lincoln; paternal grandmother, Caroline Massaferi; maternal grandmother, Linda Wright; step siblings, Lindsay, Jennifer (Bobby), David, and James Lincoln (Denise); aunts, Sherry Jarymovych (Roman) and Lisa Lincoln; uncle, Steve Wright (Stacy); and cousins Brittany and Holly Burris, and Brian Wright.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, June 18, 2 – 6PM at Hockessin United Methodist Church, 7250 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, Delaware  19707.  A service will be held on Monday, June 19, at 10AM at the church, with a luncheon reception to follow.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faithful Friends Animal Society, 12 Germay Drive, Wilmington, DE  19804 (www.faithfulfriends.us).
