Robert T. Tabasko, age 85, of Lewes, Delaware, passed away on April 16, 2017.

He was born in South Amboy, New Jersey on September 26, 1931, the ninth child of John and Mary Tabasko.

Bob graduated from St. Mary’s High School, South Amboy, class of 1949.   He served as an altar boy for several years at St. Mary’s R. C. Church.

A veteran of the Korean War, Robert served in the Army in the 2nd Infantry Division and received the Combat Infantry Badge.

Upon his discharge, he was employed as a lab technician for Hercules, Inc., in Parlin, N.J. for 20 years.  He later was employed by the DuPont Company in Union, N.J., Newark and Wilmington, DE, and retired as a warehouse supervisor after 20 years of service. 

Upon retiring in 1991, Bob and his wife, Estelle, moved to Lewes, Delaware and built their dream house close to the beach.  Bob and Estelle became  lifetime members of VFW Post 7447, Rehoboth Beach.

Bob was a member of the District Four Honor Guard for over 20 years, attending many funerals for deceased veterans.

Bob enjoyed family get-togethers, woodworking, jazz piano, boating, convertible sports cars and home repairs.  He was a huge fan of the New York Giants and Jets football teams and a former season ticket holder for University of Delaware football for 30 years.

He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Joseph, John and Bernard, his sisters, Elizabeth, Margaret, Mary, Ann and Paula and son-in-law Eddie Everett.

Bob is survived by his wife, Estelle, his children, Jill A. McLaughlin (Daniel), Maria Mullin (Jim), Robert J. (Debra), and Kathleen Everett, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at St. Jude the Apostle Church, Rt. 1 in Lewes, DE on Friday, April 21 from 10 am-12 noon with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at noon

Burial with military honors will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE on Monday, April 24 at 11 am. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Lewes Fire Company, 347 E. Savannah Rd., Lewes, DE 19958.
