Raymond F. Miller

Raymond F. Miller, Jr., 73 of Newark, DE, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, with his loving wife by his side.

Ray was born in Wilmington, son of the late Raymond and Eleanor (Beatson) Miller. He served in the Delaware Army National Guard and went on to work as professional driver for many years, accruing numerous awards for safety and excellence.

In his spare time, Ray enjoyed playing pinochle, and watching television. He was an avid Phillies fan and was a member of the Wilmington Blind Bowlers League for 20 years. Above all else he enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife, Carol.

In addition to his wife, Ray is survived by his sisters, Mary DuBois (Jay) and Harriet Figgs; her sisters-in-law, Janice Miller and Sally Thomas (Jim); his very best friends, Joe and Pat Mulrooney; as well as many nieces, nephews and members of his extended family.

Preceding him in death are his brothers, Robert, Harry and Thomas Miller and his brother-in-law, James Figgs.

Ray’s family would like to thank the staff of Heartland Hospice and the AETNA Emergency Ambulance.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Holy Angels Church, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark, DE 19711. Interment will be private.
