Raymond Munro House

Raymond Munro House, age 86, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 7, 2017 with his loving family by his side.

Born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, Ray was the son of the late Byron and Norah House. He spent four years in the U.S. Air Force (1951-1955), which included 36 months in Japan. In 1958, Ray received his B.S. Degree in Accounting from Wichita State University. After graduation in 1958, Ray began his career with The Boeing Company, Wichita Division. In 1968, he transferred to The Boeing Company, Helicopter Division in Ridley Park, PA and moved to Wilmington, DE. Ray retired from The Boeing Company as the Director of Finance on April 1, 1991 after 33 years of service.

In his earlier years, Ray enjoyed boating, especially along the Chesapeake Bay. He also loved snow skiing, which he had done all over the country well into his 70's. Ray will be remembered as a man of few words, who expressed his love through his actions rather than words. He was a strong yet vulnerable man, who had an amazing soul and a big heart. Ray will be deeply missed by his children, who will treasure their many memories of him as an amazing father.

Ray is survived his son, Brian Robert House; his daughter, Allison Rae House (John Aiello); his brother, Weston Clark House (Judi); his two grandchildren, Amanda and Reade Aiello; and Allison's mother-in-law, Marylou Aiello. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Marilynn May House.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, May 18 from 5 to 6 PM at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808, where a Celebration of Ray's Life will begin at 6 PM.
