Patricia A. Potts

Patricia A. Potts, 66, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, January 17, 2018.  She was surrounded by the people she loved and who loved her dearly.  Born in Elsmere, DE, she was the daughter of the late Harry Potts, a bricklayer from Oxford, PA, and Mary (Carroll) Potts from New York.

Patty was a graduate of Corpus Christi High School, class of 1969.  Her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant over the last 30 years allowed her to touch the lives of many.  She loved spending time with her family, and enjoyed crocheting blankets for her many loved ones.  Patty also enjoyed listening to classic rock music, especially Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and John Lennon.  She was a huge fan of all things New York and loved every bus trip taken to New York City with her friends and daughter.  An avid New York Yankees and Giants fan, Patty also enjoyed many afternoons watching the horse races at Delaware Park.

In addition to her parents, Patty was sadly predeceased by her beloved son, James Saienni; and her brother, John Potts.

Patty will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Theresa Kempczynski; her former husband and best friend, Michael Kempczynski, who unconditionally supported her and always remained at her side; her sister, Mary Sacre; her brother, Harry Potts; her nieces and nephews; many friends; her co-workers at Heartland Hospice IPU.  She will also be missed by her cherished “mutts”, Snuggles and Bentley.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Thursday, January 25 from 9:00-11:00AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4th St. and Bancroft Pkwy., Wilmington at 12:00PM.  Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
